CLEOPATRA Dance Fest Competition

Many see the competition as a chance to win a crown, & to make a name for yourself.

However, it is most important to look at a competition as a way to win against yourself, how to be the best you can be, and how to be a better dancer than the one you used to be yesterday, through training and preparation.

Remember: no matter the outcome, you always win the grandest prize of all the courage to compete and share your skill in front of Egyptian judges and front of so many other amazing dancers from all over the world!

There are 4 Categories at Cleopatra Dance Fest: Cleopatra Royal Crown, Cleopatra Queen, Cleopatra Princess and Croup Category competition.

Age: 15 years or older, 8 or more years of experience in Oriental Dance.

Information, Requirements, and Policy

For Solo Competition;

To qualify to enter any of the competition categories you must have signed up for one of Cleopatra workshop Packages.
In these competitions you are allowed to dance to only one of these three styles;

Oriental (Modern or Classic), Shaabi or Baladi, these three styles are not separate categories. Our judges will judge you based on your own interpretation of the style you picked against the other dancers with the style they picked.
Time: 4 – 5 minutes  maximum

Soloist Judging Criteria:
  • Choreography / Musical interpretation.
  • Technique / use of stage.
  • Stage presence / Make up / Hair.
  • Appropriate costuming / style.
  • Feelings and expression.
Group Judging Criteria:
  • Choreography / Musical interpretation.
  • Synchronization.
  • Technique / use of stage.
  • Stage presence / Make up / Hair.
  • Appropriate costuming / style.
  • Feelings and expression
