Many see the competition as a chance to win a crown, & to make a name for yourself.
However, it is most important to look at a competition as a way to win against yourself, how to be the best you can be, and how to be a better dancer than the one you used to be yesterday, through training and preparation.
To qualify, please record a recent performance of yours and upload it to YouTube. (Good quality video recording) Your performance must be in either Mejanse or Classic song style. We recommend using an original choreography and a recent recording to showcase your best work.
Time limit: 4 minutes maximum
Deadline: You have until June 4th to submit your Performance video link.
Result: Mohamed Shahin will judge your performance, and ONLY 6 top dancers will be selected for the next round.
If you are not selected, Mohamed Shahin will send you detailed written feedback to help you improve your skills.Only 6 dancers will compete in this round. The six selected dancers will be announced on the 2nd of June. Whether you are one of the chosen dancers or not, you will receive an email from us. We will also post the names and photos of ONLY the six selected dancers on our social media.
These six selected dancers will be performing a Classic Song with our Cleopatra Live orchestra. On July 5th, they will select their songs by lottery from the 6 Classic Songs listed below.
Cleopatra Fest Judges will pick the 3 finalists to compete in the final round. The announcement will take place on the same evening.

The 3 finalists will compete for the title of Cleopatra Royal Crown Competition. They will perform a seamless 7-minute show, a Mejanse followed by Shaabi. (There will be no break in between; feel free to make a quick change, lasting no more than 30 seconds, and add some accessories to your costume on stage.) Cleopatra Live Orchestra will accompany all.
On July 9th, the finalists will select their songs by lottery from the three choices listed below.
The One and Only Cleopatra Royal Crown Competition Winner will be announced on July 9th.
