CLEOPATRA Dance Fest Competition

Many see the competition as a chance to win a crown, & to make a name for yourself.

However, it is most important to look at a competition as a way to win against yourself, how to be the best you can be, and how to be a better dancer than the one you used to be yesterday, through training and preparation.

Remember: no matter the outcome, you always win the grandest prize of all the courage to compete and share your skill in front of Egyptian judges and front of so many other amazing dancers from all over the world!

There are 4 Categories at Cleopatra Dance Fest: Cleopatra Queen, Cleopatra Princess, Cleopatra Junior and Croup Category competition.

CLEOPATRA Queen

Professional Category

TWO ROUNDS

Age: 15 years or older, 5 or more years of experience in Oriental Dance.
Second-round Finalists will compete with Cleopatra live Orchestra

CLEOPATRA Princess

Intermediate Category

ONE ROUND

Age: 12 years or older Less than 5 years of dance experience in Oriental Dance

CLEOPATRA Group

Group Category

ONE ROUND

Two or more dancers Maximum 8 dancers per group.

CLEOPATRA Junior

kids Category

ONE ROUND

Age: 8 - 13 years older

Information, Requirements, and Policy

For Solo Competition;

To qualify to enter any of the competition categories you must have signed up for one of Cleopatra workshop Packages.
In these competitions you are allowed to dance to only one of these three styles;

Oriental (Modern or Classic), Shaabi or Baladi, these three styles are not separate categories. Our judges will judge you based on your own interpretation of the style you picked against the other dancers with the style they picked.
Time: 4 – 5 minutes maximum

CLEOPATRA Queen (Two Rounds)

First round:

Recorded music; A song of your choice. The song must follow the Competition guidelines regarding timing and style.

Second Round:

Cleopatra Live Orchestra; Our esteemed Cleopatra Live Orchestra will play for you one of the following 10 songs. Familiarize yourself with these songs, and if you happen to be one of the finalists, you will choose the song for yourself in a random lottery right after you have been announced as a finalist.

- The Cleopatra Crown Finalists’ performance will be just prior to our Superstars Closing Gala Show on July 6, 2024, at 7:30pm.

- Once you registered to compete, please make sure to upload your music at least one month before the show date

CLEOPATRA Princess - One Round

Recorded Music: A song of your choice; the song must follow the Competition Guidelines regarding timing and style.

CLEOPATRA Junior - One Round

Cleopatra Group Competition - One Round

Must consist of Two or more dancers, and no more than 8 dancers. FreeStyle as long as it’s related to Oriental Dance, could be Oriental, Folklore, or Oriental Fusion.
Props: All allowed
Time: 4 – 5 minutes maximum Once you registered to compete, please make sure to upload your music at least one month before the show date,

Choreography / Musical interpretation.
Technique / use of stage.
Stage presence / Make up / Hair.
Appropriate costuming / style.
Feelings and expression.

Winners Announcement

The winner’s announcement will take place on July 6th at the Superstars Closing Gala Show, and the first winner will perform in the closing Gala Show.
